The Lansing Bicycle Press crew is riding in the DALMAC this year. This annual event brings in riders from all over the midwest; about 1500 riders are attending this year. There are four routes, all starting at the MSU Pavilion this Wednesday and Thursday, that wind their way north to the Mackinac Bridge.
The DALMAC was started in 1971 when Dick Allen, a former state representative, set out to prove that bicyclists and cars could safely shared the roads in Michigan. The Tri-County Bicycle Association is the organizing group and money raised for the ride funds the DALMAC fund, which can be used for bicycle projects in Michigan.
